Cassian Mercer

Cassian Mercer began his career as a culinarian early in life, born and raised in Radz-at-Han, Thavnair, Cassian was often left to his own devices as his father was a world traveler and his mother was often away from home on business leaving the young boy to fend for himself when it came to food. While he would go on to gain a doctoral degree from the prestigious Asabra University in Allagan Studies, cooking had always been a passion of his. As the man himself tells it, the cupboards were bare one fateful night and he headed out into the streets of Radz-at-Han to find a place to eat as most of the shops were closed at that hour, it was on this night he discovered a restaurant with food from around the world.

 

After talking his way into the restaurant and assuring the staff that he could pay for a meal, he tried a little of everything. So amazed at all the delicious foods he headed into the kitchen and begged the chef to teach him. Years later after his schooling was completed he headed to Hingashi and Doma to learn their styles of cooking and add to his repertoire of recipes. He studied there for five years before recently coming to Eorzea to learn dishes and styles from here. He can be found cooking at the Bountiful Chest of the Gold & Glory Hunter’s Guild as well as a guest chef at several prominent restaurants in Ishgard.

Welcome to the Bountiful Chest, the Gold and Glory Adventuring Company’s premier restaurant and lounge! Situated in the Goblet, we are just around the bend from prosperous Ul'dah, and situated to serve not only the most humble of adventurers, but the most illustrious and prosperous of the elite!

Originally a hunter’s tavern, the Monetarist brothers Anthony and Maximillian Crawford have transformed this once-humble establishment into a glittering jewel to mirror their beloved Ul'dah.
